Upcoming Cars In 2012 BMW 3 With Prices, Specification And Previews and Images
ome up with a very interesting concept. The BMW 3 Series received a facelift this year and it is good enough to withstand strong competition from the A4 and C-Class until the new one arrives sometime in 2011.
BMW has already begun testing the next generation 3 Series platform albeit with a body shell of the present model. So the final design cannot be too far behind. We hear that we are still a year’s time away from the first 2012 3 Series prototypes on the road for testing and the final design will be chosen in spring this year.
Teknikensvarld reports that the 2012 BMW 3 Series will carry forward design from the CS concept which is why their new rendering makes more sense. The larger front grille and a flat nose section comply with the new Pedestrian regulations.
What we have here can be classified in the “looks true, but we’re not sure it is” category. French website Automobile Magazine released today two photos portraying the future generation BMW 3 Series, in fact two CGIs which are supposed to showcase the AvantGarde design expected to come with the new car.
Although, we say again, these photos may not portray exactly how the next 3 Series will look like, we reckon they come pretty close. For refference, you may try and make the comparison by yourself by viewing the spyshots of the 2012 3 Series we showed you last November.
The next generation 2012 BMW 3 Series is still a few years out, but this does not stop the curiosity of the true bimmer fans. Our friend Giom decided to show us some renderings of what the next generation BMW 3 Series might look like.
If you remember, Giom is the same designer that came up with the really cool 2012 BMW M6 renderings that were posted on here back in May. I agree with Giom when he says that the next generation 3-series will be evolutionary rather than revolutionary, so the styling reflects the current cues, which includes the CS concept.
BMW is planning to dramatically expand the number of offerings within its various model ranges, especially the strong-selling 3-series that is the backbone of the brand. All eyes are on the next 3, due for 2012.
Aside from the usual body styles—sedan, station wagon, coupe, and retractable-roof convertible—BMW will also build a five-door hatchback version featuring an aggressive design that will combine station-wagon practicality with coupelike style. In other words, the 3-series range will get its own version of the 5-series GT concept, BMW’s attempt to cross-pollinate an SUV and a station wagon. Like the 5-series GT, the 3-series GT will offer two adjustable seats with a center console in the rear and straddle the fine line between BMW SUV and BMW wagon in regard to overall height.
