VIDEO: Porsche 911 with GM LS1 V8 Power

By taking a kitbashed GM-sourced LS1 V8 engine and slotting it into an AWD Porsche 996, LS1tech forum member “1dirtyZ” has set out to create something truly unique. Sure, it’s unconventional and perhaps a little sacrilegious...but just look at the Porsche donor car.
It’s a wreck, the victim of a catastrophic engine fire. It has a ruined interior and a body that’s been damaged both by fire and rust. It would have spent the rest its days rotting away in a car wreckers yard if1dirtyZ had not rescued it.
And even though this confabulation of All-American grunt and German precision engineering is not yet finished (it doesn’t have a rear bumper, for one), it certainly runs and can even be driven around a dirt race track. You can check out our gallery of in-progress images below and a handful of videos showing the V8-powered Porsche 911 running.
All it needs now is a name. Wheels dubbed the R35 Nissan GT-R Godzilla so should we maybe call this science-project-gone-wrong “Cloverfield”? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Sacha Baron gets Glitzy Gold Dartz for the Needs of his New Movie The Dictator

After becoming worldwide known for his portrayal of the fictional character Borat from the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, and the lesser successful flamboyantly gay Austrian fashion show presenter, Brüno, English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen is returning to the big screen with a new movie called The Dictator.
And what may that have to do with a car site, we hear you ask? Well, for one, we’re going to see him facing off three Lamborghinis with his camel on the streets of New York, but most importantly, we learned that the dictator he portrays will ride in an “all-gold Dartz” armored truck.
For those of you with a weak memory, the Russian maker of the Dartz Prombron had made headlines about a year ago when it introduced a special version of the armored truck with its interior slathered in…whale-penis leather.
Leonard Yankelovich, owner of Dartz, had this to say to DictatorTheMovie site:

Yakshemash, DARTZ! Saddam Hussein.
And that means that kazakh number one – Borat Sagdiev choose car from number one crazeee car supplier to crazeee kazakh’s – DARTZ.
But not for himself – for Saddam Hussein.
The Dictator. The Real Dictator.
DARTZ released their james Bond inspired “The car With The Golden Wheels” last year to one of Top Marques Monaco Show which was planned to be in Middle east.
And may be that’s destiny that car find it’s customer in Middle East.
And that’s great customer!
Sacha baron Cohen a.k.a. Saddam Hussein.
Of course in addition to his gold AK-74 Saddam need russian Golden car – all dictators like Golden Russian Toys.

Like told my friend Igor “Sniper” Ristolainen
This Saddam look like modgahed I sold spares from my armored car in Afganistan . I was happy to sell all car – but next day we have small battle with these basmach – and we need this car we need this car to kick his ass!
Leonard F. Yankelovich
a.k.a.
LEO’n’DARTZ
According to Paramount pictures, Cohen's new film will "tell the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed". It is said that the movie is loosely based on the Iraqi novel Zabibah and the King, which is believed to have been written by the late Saddam Hussein.

Chrysler Seeks Fiat Synergies to Start Cars Production In China

China is the world’s largest car market: last year alone, more than 18 million vehicles were sold there, of which 13.76 million were passenger cars. Furthermore, analysts McKinsey & Company predict that it will grow tenfold between 2005 and 2030.
Do you want to know Chrysler’s share in this massive car market? A measly 31,000 in 2010 and a projection for just 40,000 in 2011. Therefore, it is only natural that the American carmaker is looking for ways to increase its share in this rapidly expanding market.
Problem is, you just don’t walk into China and start building cars: “To find a partner, negotiate, get government approval, build a plant – that’s a long time” Mike Manley, head of Chrysler’s international operations told Reuters news.
But, according to Manley, Chrysler already has a way to get rid of all that fuss and make things happen quickly: “Fiat are already through that”.
Fiat Spa, who manages Chrysler and is sharing technologies and models, has since 2009 established a joint venture with GAC, the country’s sixth biggest carmaker, to build cars in China.
"If there's an opportunity for us in the same way as we've done with Fiat in terms of technology or using their distribution, our speed to market is going to be so much quicker," Manley said, adding that if Chrysler, or rather Jeep, wants to succeed in the competitive small SUV market, it would have to build them in China.
Jeep is already planning to launch the Compass and Grand Cherokee models in China, while Chrysler is examining the possibility of importing the 200 and 300 sedans from the United States.

VIDEO: Subaru in the Midst of Saudi Women Driving

Last month, a 32-year old woman named Manal al-Sharif was arrested in Saudi Arabia for committing the crimes of… driving and posting a video on Youtube urging other women to drive too.
This is strictly forbidden by the Wahhabi sect of Suni Islam which is Saudi Arabia’s religion, as women are not allowed to apply for a driver’s license or mix with men (e.g. in service or gas stations) or even leave the home without male company.
Even though al-Sharif was released 10 days later, her arrest resulted in a group of women named "Saudi women for Driving" to campaign in favor of lifting the ban on women’s driving in the Kingdom.
US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has publicly supported the group who defied the royal family’s regime by driving in Saudi Arabian streets on June 17.
Now the group is putting pressure on Subaru and its parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, to leave the country until the prohibition is lifted. The Japanese company was selected because it is considered progressive and has marketed its products to women. It is also quite possible that the group’s next targets will be Cadillac and Hyundai, the two brands of cars driven by al-Sharif.
Fuji Industries and Subaru spokesman, Kenta Matsumoto, commented that the company’s Saudi Arabia dealer’s “haven’t received information of any campaigns. We only have dealers, not factories, in the country and our annual sales are limited to 300-400 units”.

Dancing with the Bikes: The Most Twisted Video You’ll See

What you’re about to see in the following video is one of the weirdest motorcycle accidents ever with an unexpected -yet admittedly, highly enjoyable-twist.
It features two racing motorcycles and their respective drivers during a round of the promosport Championship at the Magny Cours track in France. The incident began when the first motorcyclist slips before a turn sending his bike sliding on the tarmac, and eventually hit a rider in front knocking him down from his bike.
Up until this point, there is nothing out of the ordinary about the incident. But as the two bikers get up and try to lift their motorcyclesithappens… See for yourself in the video after the jump.

VIDEO: Subaru Impreza WRX STI’s Record Run at the Isle of Man TT

After seeing the growing the attention and interest on Mark Higgins' record lap time -and not to mention, a very close call with a wall during the practice runs- in a U.S. specification 2011 Impreza WRX STI 305HP at the historic Isle of Man TT Mountain Course, Subaru’s American arm issued a new video of the event.
The former British Rally Champion achieved speeds of up to 162 MPH (260 km/h) and a lap time of 19 minutes 37 seconds over the 37-mile track, which runs through several small towns with trees, stone walls, and buildings and includes more than 200 corners.
The video highlights Higgin’s lap that averaged 115.356 MPH, while the British driver also talks us through a chilling moment at Brey Hill when he momentarily lost and then regained control of the WRX STI at more than 150 MPH (241km/h).
Aside from the necessary safety modifications such as a Lifeline fire suppression system, Hockley Motorsports roll cage, and motordrive competition seats, the WRX STI was also fitted with Mintex brake pads (but with stock calipers and rotors), a louder open exhaust to warn spectators of its arrival, and retuned springs and dampers to accommodate the numerous high-speed jumps on the circuit. In addition, Subaru’s engineers turned off the car’s speed limiter.
Commenting on the event that marked the test runs, Higgins said:
"We were only able to get two practice runs and on our second practice I had the biggest 'moment' of my career. We had a passenger on the run and so coming into Bray Hill at more than 150 MPH, the extra weight compressed the suspension more than on previous runs and shifted the Subaru to the left and then right as I corrected--it was a real tank slapper. The whole thing went by so quickly that we never slowed below 110 MPH, and then we were back on the power. It was amazing and the helicopter shots really show just how hairy it really was."

Cake Boss Transforms Bumblebee into a 2,000-Pound Monster

VW may have made some headlines with the 2012 Beetle’s appearance on Britney Spears’latest music video, but when it comes to product placement, the Germans are no match to General Motors.
The General’s say (or is that pay?) is so strong in the movie industry that the Detroit company was able to convince the makers of the Transformers franchise to have a 2011 Chevy Camaro play the role of Bumblebee instead of the original VW Beetle.
And as if the appearance of the Camaro and the rest of the GM branded gang in the trilogy weren’t enough, the Detroit company is also pushing its Transformer characters on reality TV shows.
In anticipation of the upcoming Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon film, the General had TLC’s Cake Boss, a.k.a. Buddy Valastro cook up a 2,000-pound lump of flour and sugar in the shape of a Chevy Camaro with Bumblebee sitting on top. Scroll down to watch the video.

VIDEO: The Longest Car Drift Set In Mercedes C63 AMG

Mauro Calο, test driver at Mercedes Benz, has smashed the existing world recοrd οf 394 meters for the lοngest car drift, by driving a Mercedes C63 AMG sideways around the track fοr almost 8 laps.
He managed tο total a distance οf 2,308 meters, an impressive achievement which will mοst likely seal his name in the record books fοr a lοng time.

The place where it all happened is a cοmplete 360 degree circle οf tarmac at the Handling Circuit at Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge Surrey, sο it remains to be seen if the Japanese, the inventοrs of drifting are nοw feeling challenged by this record.
Andrew Mallery, Cοmmercial Operations Director, Mercedes-Benz Cars said
"When Maurο apprοached us to hοld his record breaking attemptοn the circuit at Mercedes-Benz World we were happy tο offer him the suppοrt. He has been a valuable member of the driving experience team fοr several years and is a respected driver in the industry, sο there was no dοubt he wοuld achieve his aim"

Video: Three Women Trying to Save their BMW M5 from Vancouver Hooligans

Make no mistake; you can find hooligans in every country and in all sports. The colors and language may change, but there’s a common denominator that crosses all cultural lines: idiocy of the utmost degree and the complete lack of compassion towards fellow human beings.
The huge riots in Vancouver, Canada, after the Canucks' loss last week to the Boston Bruins for the Stanley Cup, are a prime example of this kind of ill mentality.
We saw several people injured, shops looted and properties destroyed, but this particular incident involving three young women and their BMW M5 sedan, stood out for a great number of reasons. The three women were hopelessly trying to fend off an army of male individuals from kicking, jumping, breaking and throwing whatever they could find on the previous-generation M5 saloon.
It’s one thing describing the incident and another watching these men (if you can call them that…) turning into animals just for the fun of it. And what is even more disturbing is the fact that from all these people surrounding the vehicle, not one person tried to intervene to help these women. Unbelievable…

VIDEO: Gordon Murray’s Batmobile

In the annals οf Batmobile histοry, we are not sure where tο peg this latest versiοn. The good: It is dark, it's carbοn fiber and it spits flames frοm a carbon-ceramic afterburner. The bad: It is just really freaking dull.

But because it's been designed by Gordοn Murray οf McLaren F1 fame, we want to lοve it. But cannοt.
Unlike the jet-engined pοwered Batmobiles οf yore, Murray's design is an οdd attempt at the Dark Knight going green, with a hydrοgen fuel cell and a brace οf lithium-ion batteries. The carbοn fiber body suppοsedly breathes and the virtual wheels are ringed in LEDs.
How either οf those features help the caped crusader fight crime is beyοnd us, but then again, sο is the idea of the Batman Live Wοrld Arena Tour it's been built fοr.
Yοu can check out Murray's οriginal sketch in the gallery below and watch a duο οf videos below. We are gοing tο weep quietly as yet another childhοod dream vehicles succumbs tο the PC overlοrds.

The Inspirational Archer without Arms Changes Pontiac Brakes with Feet Only!!

Matt Stutzsman is one truly gifted and talented individual whose attitude should be an inspiration to all. You see, Stutzsman was born without arms. And yet, despite all the challenges, he managed to adapt and do everything on his own using his legs and feet.
The 29-year old man from Iowa, whose birth parents gave him up for adoption when he has was just four months old because they couldn’t deal with the idea of raising a child with special needs (or so they thought), just recently qualified from the U.S. Olympic team in archery!
He also drives a car having obtained his license as a teenager. His adoptive mother, Jean, explains on his personal website:
“The local public school system refused to cooperate so Matt had to take a couple of driving test for a driving evaluator after 2 years of fighting the system Matt finally got his driver’s license,” says Jean. “Matt uses his left foot to operate the brake and gas pedals, his right foot is used to turn the steering wheel, shift the car, turn on the blinkers and adjust the lights,” she adds.
And that’s only half the story; as you can see for yourself in the video below, Matt can even change the brakes of his Pontiac Grand Prix using his feet only!

Naturally, there's a bοdy kit bolted in place that includes a new fascia, rοcker panels, rear wing and what appears tο be a carbοn fiber hood.
Inside are Recarο seats and plenty οf white-faced gauges. Finally, as you will see οr rather hear, in the video after the break, it alsο boasts sοme aural improvements courtesy οf what we are guessing are substantial changes tο the exhaust system along with the welcοme addition οf a supercharger.
